More than a village, Cala Santanyi is a small urbanisation of holiday homes, apartments, hotels, restaurants, bars and a few shops that are clustered around the picturesque cove. It is a perfect choice for fans of diving and families with young children.
The main attractions are the sandy beach, the seabed and Es Pontàs, a natural arch in the sea that is near the cove and is ideal for snorkeling and diving. There is a diving school at the cove where you can take a course or rent all the necessary equipment.
Climbing the stairs to the right of the creek and passing the Pinos Playa Hotel you can also reach on foot the "viewpoint" of Es Pontàs and, with a little adventurous spirit, along the coast to Cala Llombards. In the opposite direction along the coast to the left is the picturesque fishing village Cala Figuera that has retained the charm of former times.
The town of Santanyi is a few miles inland. It has a nice old town, protected by the old wall. Every Wednesday and Saturday a colorful market is held. The church is worth a visit and you should visit some shops and art galleries where you can find original gifts.
