The highway of Sa Calobra is pure adventure and with the majestic kloof Torrent de Pareis, one of the most visited destinies of the mountain range of Tramuntana.
The first section of the highway of Sa Calobra is a challenge for every driver. At the time of the construction, the architect respected the local geography. The result is a highway of about 14 km in length, with more than a dozen of narrow curves, many serpentines and the famous "knot of the necktie", a curve that returns on itself. Lowering more than 800 ms of altitude until the small cove Sa Calobra, it is passed by a spectacular landscape.
Point of interest, however, is the Torrent de Pareis. One of the greatest tubes of the Mediterranean and declared as a natural monument. From the cove with several restaurants, bars and wharf you can go to the right, crossing a small tunnel and you are at the opening of the torrent. A cove with crystalline water and nailed between cliffs of more than 200 ms of height. It's a perfect outdoor audience and every year, the first Sunday of July, they are celebrating a great concert. Although it is possible to walk the torrent without great difficulties during the first 500 ms, the whole ascent//descent one (3,300 ms) is dangerous and just recommended to experts.
